The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) made a notable appearance at the Luxury Travel Mart (LTM) Autumn edition and co-hosted a Business Seminar-Breakfast alongside Kazakhstan’s top tour operator, Kompas Tour, in September 2024, solidifying its status as a leading destination for Kazakhstani tourists.

On September 18th in Astana and September 20th in Almaty, the ATB participated in LTM, a prestigious B2B event focused on luxury travel products. This platform allowed ATB to connect with the luxury travel market in the CIS region, establishing new partnerships and enhancing existing ones. During the event, the ATB engaged with 25 prominent tour operators and travel agencies, promoting Azerbaijan’s diverse tourism offerings. Highlights included luxury ski resorts like Shahdag and Tufandag, Baku’s lively city experiences, wellness retreats, and thermal spas. Additionally, Azerbaijan was presented as a prime destination for MICE tourism, upscale accommodations, and exclusive tours, reinforcing the country’s ambition to expand in the Kazakhstani market.

On September 19th, ATB and Kompas Tour co-organized a business breakfast seminar in Almaty, attended by 50 travel agents. The seminar focused on Azerbaijan’s top tourist attractions, with a particular spotlight on the upcoming ski season. This event provided attendees with in-depth knowledge about Azerbaijan’s extensive travel opportunities, ranging from cultural tours to winter sports, positioning the country as an attractive option for Kazakhstani travelers.

In 2024, Azerbaijan saw a notable rise in tourists from Kazakhstan. Between January and August, the country welcomed 58,082 Kazakhstani tourists, marking a 64% growth compared to the 35,471 arrivals during the same period in 2023. This surge underscores Azerbaijan’s growing appeal for luxury tourism, winter sports, and cultural exploration. ATB remains committed to strengthening ties with the Kazakhstani market and building on the success of these recent events.
