The Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) is set to light up Sydney Motorsport Park (SMSP) once again in 2025, following the resounding success of its previous night races. These events have become the pinnacle of the ASBK calendar, drawing Australia’s top motorcycle racers back to the premier venue. The action is scheduled for March 28-29, made possible by the extended partnership with Destination NSW, the state’s lead agency for tourism and major events.

This thrilling two-day event will utilize SMSP’s state-of-the-art lighting system, ensuring the races are held under a spectacular nocturnal backdrop, a feature exclusive to this New South Wales location. Both days will be packed with activity, including daytime practice and qualifying sessions, transitioning into evening races illuminated by 138 towering light fixtures.

Fans can look forward to an array of engaging off-track activities, from free access to the ASBK pits—offering a closer look at the high-performance bikes and a chance to meet the riders—to various family-friendly activations.

The return of the ASBK to Sydney is part of a broader initiative by Destination NSW to host premier events and championships, enhancing the city’s status as a tourist hub. The night races at SMSP, a first in ASBK’s four-decade history, have not only highlighted the skills of Australia’s superbike elites but have also attracted a global audience.

Josh Waters, a standout performer in previous races, will once again showcase his prowess under the dazzling lights of SMSP, alongside other renowned competitors. The tradition of the ASBK, which has nurtured legends like Mick Doohan and current MotoGP contender Jack Miller, continues to thrive, promising another spectacular season in 2025 under the Sydney night sky.
