The American Hotel & Lodging Association has appointed Steven Okuley as Senior Vice President of Conferences and Events, bringing extensive experience from American Airlines.
The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) has appointed Steven Okuley as its new Senior Vice President for Conferences and Events. Okuley brings extensive industry experience to this role, having previously worked at American Airlines as Director of B2B Customer Engagement & Communication, where he managed global sales and distribution tradeshows, internal meetings, customer events, sales incentives, and advisory boards. Before his time at American Airlines, Okuley held the position of Director of Global Meetings & Events at Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
Okuley will officially join AHLA on September 30 and will take charge of a dedicated team responsible for organizing and delivering high-value events that enhance member engagement and provide significant returns for sponsors and partners. In recent years, AHLA has successfully expanded its event offerings, both through its own initiatives and in collaboration with partner organizations. This growth has solidified AHLA’s reputation as a thought leader in hosting top-tier industry events. Notable events include:
