In the wake of Hurricane Helene’s destructive path, American Airlines has pledged to donate 10 million AAdvantage® miles to Airlink, a humanitarian nonprofit dedicated to assisting communities facing crises. This contribution will facilitate the transportation of emergency responders and relief teams to areas most desperately in need.

Furthermore, American Airlines has collaborated with the American Red Cross to aid those affected by Hurricane Helene. Contributions can be made through a specially designated website at redcross.org/aa. Donors using this platform will receive AAdvantage® bonus miles in gratitude for their support.

“We are proud to join forces with Airlink and the Red Cross to deliver critical aid to those affected by Hurricane Helene,” said Ron DeFeo, American’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. “At American Airlines, it is our purpose to care for people on life’s journey, and we are committed to helping communities in times of need.”

Earlier this year, the American Red Cross recognized American Airlines as a Mission Leader, acknowledging the airline’s substantial contributions exceeding $3 million annually aimed at mitigating hardships during emergencies. Since 2014, American has also participated in the Annual Disaster Giving Program, which consists of proactive donors who offer support ahead of disasters.

American Airlines, a major international carrier, operates numerous flights daily to over 350 destinations across more than 60 countries. It is a founding member of the oneworld® alliance, which covers over 900 destinations worldwide.

Airlink stands out as a significant global humanitarian nonprofit organization. It delivers essential aid to crisis-stricken communities by providing free airlift and logistical support through a network of vetted nonprofit partners, revolutionizing the humanitarian response to global disasters.
