American Airlines is preparing to expand its long-haul network for the Northern Winter 2025/2026 season, running from October 26, 2025, to March 28, 2026. The increase in capacity aims to enhance international travel options for passengers flying between the U.S. and various global destinations.

By March 2025, American Airlines will operate a vast network of 356 destinations worldwide, including 227 cities within the U.S. and 129 international locations across 61 countries. This expansion is part of the airline’s strategy to meet growing international demand and offer more flight choices to its customers.

Several key international routes will see substantial capacity increases:

  • Miami to Buenos Aires: Starting December 18, a fourth daily flight will be added, offering more options for passengers traveling between the U.S. and Argentina.
  • Dallas to Sao Paulo: As of December 3, American Airlines will raise the frequency of flights from seven to ten per week, strengthening its presence in the Brazilian market.
  • Dallas to Dublin: The seasonal route will be extended through early January 2026, providing more transatlantic travel choices during the busy holiday season, beyond the initial October 2025 closure.
  • Dallas to Kona: The route will return with a daily Boeing 787-8 service starting November 20, reinstating a route last operated in early 2022, which had initially been planned to relaunch in December 2024.
  • Los Angeles to Auckland: Beginning December 3, the aircraft for this route will be upgraded from the Boeing 787-8 to the Boeing 777-200ER, increasing capacity for this vital transpacific link.
  • Philadelphia to Athens: The seasonal service will be extended until November 18, offering travelers additional weeks of service to Greece.

Looking forward to Summer 2025, American Airlines will increase its transatlantic presence, with over 70 daily flights connecting the U.S. to major European destinations. The expanded network will include 17 major European cities, such as Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Dublin, Frankfurt, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Naples, Nice, Paris, Rome, Venice, and Zurich.

These expansions highlight American Airlines’ ongoing investment in its international network, ensuring more choices for travelers while strengthening its position in key global markets.
