Hindon Airport welcomes Air India Express with 40 weekly direct flights to Bengaluru, Chennai, Goa, Jammu, and Kolkata, enhancing regional connectivity.

Air India Express has inaugurated direct flight operations from Hindon Airport (HDO) in Uttar Pradesh, marking a significant milestone in regional connectivity. The airline’s first flight from Hindon took off on Saturday, bound for the popular tourist destination of Goa.

With this expansion, Air India Express is set to operate 40 weekly flights from Hindon, providing direct connectivity to five major cities—Bengaluru, Chennai, Goa, Jammu, and Kolkata. This move is expected to enhance travel convenience for passengers in the National Capital Region (NCR), offering an alternative departure point alongside the bustling Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL).

Strengthening Regional Connectivity

The launch of these services makes Air India Express the first airline to operate from both Hindon and Indira Gandhi International Airport, creating more choices for travelers in and around Delhi. Hindon Airport, primarily a military airbase, was developed for civilian operations to decongest Delhi’s main airport and provide better access to travelers from the western Uttar Pradesh region, including Ghaziabad, Noida, and Meerut.

The newly introduced routes will cater to both business and leisure travelers, with Goa and Chennai being preferred vacation hotspots, while Bengaluru and Kolkata remain crucial business and cultural hubs. The inclusion of Jammu in the network also holds strategic significance, particularly for religious tourism and regional economic growth.

Convenience for Passengers

With the availability of low-cost direct flights, passengers will have the flexibility to avoid long commutes to Indira Gandhi International Airport, instead opting for Hindon’s more accessible location. The expansion aligns with the government’s UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, which aims to improve regional air connectivity across India.

As Air India Express continues to expand its domestic footprint, the new Hindon-based operations are expected to boost tourism, trade, and mobility between northern and southern India. Passengers can now enjoy faster, more affordable travel options with seamless connections to these key destinations.
