Dense fog blankets Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Al Ain, disrupting travel and reducing visibility as the UAE issues a weather alert and urges caution on roads.

Dense Fog Shrouds UAE: Visibility Drops Across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Al Ain

The UAE’s National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has released a fog advisory for several regions, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Al Ain, with the alert remaining in effect until 9 AM today.

A thick blanket of fog has descended upon multiple areas, sharply reducing visibility and posing risks for commuters. Drivers are being strongly cautioned to stay alert and adopt safe driving practices.

Visibility has been particularly affected along major highways such as Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road heading toward Sharjah, Al Wathba in Abu Dhabi, Hamim Road en route to Madinat Zayed, and roads near Al Maktoum International Airport and the Dubai South region.

Apart from the fog, today’s forecast suggests generally fair to partly cloudy skies, with patches of low clouds expected over eastern and northern parts of the country.

Temperatures are set to climb gradually, peaking between 31°C and 36°C in inland zones. Coastal areas can anticipate slightly cooler weather, with daytime highs ranging from 28°C to 32°C.

Mountainous regions will see milder conditions, with temperatures expected to stay within 25°C to 29°C.

Humidity levels are projected to increase as night approaches, with a potential for fog or mist to develop again in some western coastal and internal areas.

Winds are likely to be light to moderate, occasionally stirring up dust in exposed locations. Meanwhile, the sea is expected to remain calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Authorities continue to urge all motorists to exercise extreme caution, reduce driving speeds, and maintain safe distances between vehicles, particularly in areas affected by the lingering fog and limited visibility.
