In today’s fast-paced society, being constantly busy has become a symbol of prestige, often compromising personal well-being. India, with its demanding work culture, ranks among the countries with the most overworked people, and Mumbai, in particular, stands out as one of the most burnout-prone cities due to long working hours. Amid this widespread exhaustion, a shift is underway as individuals begin to reclaim their right to rest. Westin Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s collection of over 30 exceptional hotel brands, is spearheading the movement to promote wellness and relaxation, building on its legacy of delivering deep, restorative sleep to its guests.
The Search for India’s Most Deserving Rest Recipient
To inspire this cultural shift, Westin Hotels & Resorts is unveiling ‘The 90-Hour Rest Week’ contest, a nationwide hunt to find the individual most deserving of rest. The winner will receive an exclusive 3-night wellness retreat at a Westin hotel in India, designed to provide profound relaxation and recovery. This specially curated stay includes Westin’s signature wellness experiences, such as F&B vouchers for nourishing meals, spa vouchers for rejuvenating treatments at the Heavenly Spa, and, of course, the opportunity to Sleep Well in the Heavenly Bed for the ultimate restful experience.
“At Westin, we believe that rest isn’t a luxury—it’s essential. In a society that never slows down, we want to show that rest is not wasted time. By leading the conversation about the importance of rest and sleep and giving India’s busiest person the rest they deserve, we hope to inspire many more to prioritize their well-being,” said John Toomey, Chief Commercial Officer, Marriott International, Asia Pacific excluding China.
Westin Hotels & Resorts is empowering guests to prioritize rest and rejuvenation by offering innovative sleep programs like their signature Heavenly Bed and Sleep Well Lavender Balm. This dedication to well-being goes beyond just sleep, incorporating a range of wellness initiatives that encourage a balanced lifestyle, even while traveling. Westin ensures that guests depart feeling refreshed and reenergized through its six core pillars of well-being—Sleep Well, Eat Well, Move Well, Feel Well, Work Well, and Play Well. These pillars form the foundation for immersive experiences that guide travelers on their journey to complete wellness.
How to Participate
‘The 90-Hour Rest Week’ contest runs from March 13 to 31, 2025. To enter, participants are invited to comment on any of Westin India hotel’s Instagram contest posts, influencer Instagram posts, or Marriott International India’s LinkedIn posts. In their comment, participants must explain why they, or someone they nominate, deserve the opportunity to rest. The entry with the most creative response and the highest number of likes will win a 3-night wellness retreat at the Westin Hotel of their choice, offering the ultimate chance to restore balance and refresh their busy life.
Launching a Movement: ‘Busy Resting’
As a global leader in hospitality and wellness, Westin Hotels & Resorts is dedicated to helping travelers discover the benefits of restorative rest. The ‘90-Hour Rest Week’ contest is a key component of Westin’s ‘Busy Resting’ campaign, which debuted in January 2025 across the Asia Pacific region (excluding China).
The campaign includes a series of films and visuals that creatively use the language of busyness to redefine rest—not as something to fit in between tasks, but as an essential act that should never be overlooked. By flipping the notion of being too busy on its head, Westin encourages those who rarely take time to rest to rethink their priorities and realize that being too busy should only apply to one thing: rest.
