Air India expands Premium Economy with fares from INR 599, more routes, and enhanced perks, offering travelers affordable luxury with priority services and comfort.

Air India is scaling up its Premium Economy Class offering, driven by a twofold increase in premium seat sales over the past three years. In response to the growing demand for elevated travel experiences, the airline has introduced Premium Economy fares starting at just INR 599 above standard Economy fares on domestic routes. This limited-period offer allows passengers to experience added comfort at a highly competitive price, with fare variations based on route and demand.

Wider Reach: Premium Economy on More Domestic Routes

As the only Indian airline to offer Premium Economy alongside Business and Economy Class, Air India now provides this exclusive cabin on 39 domestic routes, with a weekly availability of over 50,000 seats. Major metro connections, including Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Bengaluru, Delhi-Hyderabad, Mumbai-Bengaluru, and Mumbai-Hyderabad, account for nearly 34,000 seats.

With the retrofit of 27 Airbus A320 aircraft into a three-class configuration, Air India plans to increase Premium Economy seats by 30%, exceeding 65,000 weekly seats. These upgraded aircraft feature brand-new seats across all classes, enhancing passenger comfort while expanding service across India and select short-haul international routes.

Exclusive Benefits of Air India’s Premium Economy

Designed for passengers seeking affordable luxury, Air India’s Premium Economy offers an exclusive cabin with fewer seats, ensuring a spacious and quieter onboard experience. Flyers can enjoy a host of premium perks, including:

  • Complimentary seat selection across the Premium Economy cabin
  • Priority check-in, boarding, and baggage handling
  • Enhanced comfort with 32-inch seat pitch and 4-inch recline
  • Superior seat upholstery for a refined experience
  • Elevated dining with complimentary hot meals served on premium chinaware

Additionally, Air India’s ‘Vista Stream’ wireless inflight entertainment system is available across its fleet (except for A350s and upgraded B777s), allowing passengers to enjoy over 1,000 hours of content on their personal devices, free of charge.

As Air India continues modernizing its fleet and expanding its Premium Economy footprint, the airline is redefining the domestic travel experience, making premium comfort more accessible than ever.
