Eco-Friendly voco Zeal Hotel Debuts in England
Located at Exeter Science Park, voco Zeal Exeter marks IHG’s pioneering venture into net zero carbon operations. This innovative hotel is designed to be fully powered by renewable and solar energy sources, employing sustainable building materials throughout its construction.

The establishment also meets the rigorous Passivhaus standards for energy efficiency and incorporates cutting-edge technology to minimize energy consumption. Nestled in Exeter, southwestern England, voco Zeal Exeter Science Park offers 142 guest rooms which, typical of European hotels, are compact yet efficiently designed. Various room configurations are available, including options with sofa beds and kitchenettes.

Guests can enjoy facilities such as a compact gym, serene outdoor gardens, versatile meeting spaces, 12 electric vehicle charging stations, and a restaurant offering a range of dining options.

IHG highlights the growing demand for eco-conscious travel solutions in their recent statement, reinforced by findings from a Booking.com survey last spring, which revealed that nearly half of the respondents prioritize sustainable travel. Specifically, 43% believe that the responsibility for environmental stewardship rests with travel service providers. IHG has partnered with Zeal Hotels, a developer specializing in sustainable hospitality projects.
