Dusit International

Dusit International, a renowned name in Thailand’s hospitality and property development industry, has entered into a strategic hotel management partnership with PT Komodo Property Management to operate Kaliwatu Residences – Dusit Collection, an exclusive new luxury hideaway in Labuan Bajo on Indonesia’s Flores Island, a destination rapidly gaining global attention among travelers. This milestone marks the debut of the Dusit Collection brand in Indonesia, adding to Dusit’s growing regional portfolio and complementing the success of its luxury villa management arm, Elite Havens, which already operates in popular destinations such as Bali and Lombok.

Nestled on the western edge of Flores Island, just a 10-minute drive from Komodo International Airport and the bustling heart of Labuan Bajo—the main gateway to the world-famous Komodo National Park—Kaliwatu Residences – Dusit Collection offers an immersive retreat perched on a scenic hillside. Guests will enjoy breathtaking ocean views and the tranquil ambiance of unspoiled nature, all while staying close to one of the region’s most celebrated adventure and diving hotspots.

The project, set to unfold in multiple phases, is expected to be fully completed by the second quarter of 2028. Upon completion, it will showcase 63 elegantly designed private villas, each featuring a personal plunge pool, along with 194 stylish, contemporary serviced apartments. The development will also include a lifestyle-focused clubhouse equipped with upscale amenities such as a signature restaurant, rooftop swimming pool, fitness center, wellness spa, retail outlets, and bars—offering a comprehensive luxury experience for discerning travelers.

As part of the prestigious Dusit Collection—a luxury brand by Dusit devoted to distinguished hotels and residences in world-renowned destinations—the upcoming property showcases a striking fusion of contemporary design and refined European elegance. Every villa is artfully crafted with distinctive architecture and spatial orientation, allowing each structure to harmonize effortlessly with the surrounding natural landscape. This thoughtful design creates an exclusive and deeply immersive retreat for discerning guests.

In addition to its upscale accommodations, the property offers seamless access to the captivating cultural and ecological treasures of Labuan Bajo. Visitors can explore ethereal pink-sand beaches, hidden underground caves, picturesque waterfalls, and scenic trekking paths that unveil sweeping panoramic views. Moreover, travelers will have the rare opportunity to encounter the legendary Komodo dragons—the largest living lizards on Earth—within the renowned Komodo National Park.

Celebrated for its remarkable biodiversity and untouched marine ecosystems, Labuan Bajo has earned a place among Indonesia’s top five super-priority destinations. With an ambitious goal of welcoming 1.5 million visitors each year, the region continues to benefit from significant infrastructure enhancements. Recent developments include the modernization of Komodo International Airport and the introduction of new direct flight routes from Kuala Lumpur and Singapore (beginning March), along with upcoming connections from Perth, Australia—further solidifying Labuan Bajo’s reputation as a premier haven for luxury travel, exploration, and adventure.

“The signing of Kaliwatu Residences – Dusit Collection marks a significant milestone in Dusit’s
expansion strategy, strengthening our presence in Southeast Asia’s thriving luxury hospitality
market,” said Gilles Cretallaz, Chief Operating Officer, Dusit International. “Labuan Bajo is
an extraordinary destination with immense potential, and we are delighted to introduce our signature Thai-inspired gracious hospitality to this stunning location. This project embodies
everything Dusit stands for—refined luxury, cultural richness, and a commitment to creating
value for the wider community. We look forward to delivering an exceptional experience for our
guests.”
Alessandro Mugavero, CEO, PT Komodo Property Management, said, “As Labuan Bajo
cements its position as a premier global destination, this project is perfectly timed to set new
standards in sustainable luxury hospitality. Our vision for Kaliwatu Residences – Dusit
Collection is to create a sanctuary that harmonises with nature while delivering world-class
amenities. With Dusit’s expertise and commitment to excellence, we are confident this
collaboration will redefine the region’s hospitality landscape. The development and construction
of the project are fully supported by local authorities and are being carried out in collaboration
with the local community, further enhancing its positive impact on the local economy.”

Dusit has expanded its global footprint to encompass 296 properties across 18 countries, featuring 57 under the Dusit Hotels and Resorts banner and 239 premium villas managed by Elite Havens. The newly added Kaliwatu Residences – Dusit Collection becomes the latest member of the prestigious Dusit Collection lineup, alongside two other projects currently underway: Layan Verde in Phuket, scheduled to welcome guests in 2027, and Plaza De Zamboanga – Dusit Collection in the Philippines, anticipated to debut later this year.
