Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean is expanding its Artist Discovery Program beyond its ships to include onshore activities, specifically at the Royal Beach Club Paradise Island. This initiative provides Bahamian artists, including musicians, performers, visual artists, and sculptors, a platform to showcase the rich culture of the region through various forms of art. Visitors to the beach club will experience the essence of The Bahamas through a series of artistic installations and performances.

“The Artist Discovery Program will ensure we authentically reflect The Bahamas’ enduring creativity and essence at our Royal Beach Club,” said Philip Simon, President, Royal Caribbean Bahamas. “We are excited to give our guests a deeper and immersive taste of The Bahamas by embedding local art at the center of the ultimate vacation experience.”

Artistic opportunities available include creating expansive murals, engaging in dynamic dance performances, playing live music, and crafting expressive sculptures, all embodying the lively spirit of The Bahamas. The beach club will feature these artists prominently, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the culture of the islands. The design of the Royal Beach Club Paradise Island will incorporate “art districts” that provide a deep dive into Bahamian traditions, emphasizing the local natural beauty, celebrations, and peaceful ambiance.

Bahamian artists, both individuals and groups, are encouraged to submit their applications for murals, sculptures, music, or performances by March 28, 2025. To apply, artists need to send five samples of their work, a CV, and an artist statement. The selection process will have its first round of results announced in April, with the final selections unveiled in May. The chosen artworks will be installed at the Royal Beach Club Paradise Island by July 2025, with a grand unveiling planned for December 2025.

The inaugural Royal Beach Club Collection is set to open in December 2025. This venue promises to be a celebration of The Bahamas, from its ideal location and Bahamian cuisine to the local culture and staff. This new beach club represents a unique collaboration between Royal Caribbean and The Bahamas, blending the island’s charm with the distinctive elements of Royal Caribbean’s offerings in terms of experience, service, and design.
