Arajet, the leading airline in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean, has been recognized by CH-Aviation for having the youngest fleet in North America and ranking fifth globally, thanks to its modern Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft. This accolade underscores Arajet’s commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship in the aviation industry.
CH-Aviation’s certification process highlights airlines that prioritize passenger safety and comfort through fleet modernization, which plays a crucial role in reducing aviation-related CO2 emissions and enhancing fuel efficiency.
Víctor Pacheco, CEO, and founder of Arajet expressed his gratitude for this award and said that appearing for the second consecutive year in this ranking reaffirms the commitment of the airline to continuing to strengthen its fleet of Boeing Max 8 aircraft with its engines ultra-silent CFM LEAP-1B that consumes 14% less fuel and reduces 40% noise pollution.
The report from CH-Aviation also notes that tackling sustainability is a significant challenge in the aviation sector, with modern fleets like Arajet’s making substantial contributions to environmental protection by notably lowering CO2 emissions.
For this certification, CH-Aviation evaluated over 110,000 aircraft and 13,500 operating airlines, along with 2,900 aircraft owners, focusing on commercial and active business aircraft operators with at least five aircraft. The process used a unified list of Air Operator Certificates for airline groups with multiple AOCs, ensuring the recognition is based solely on objective, non-manipulable data, without the involvement of a jury or any subjective criteria.
