Sabre Corporation, a global leader in travel technology, has reached a new milestone in its ongoing collaboration with Lufthansa Group, further strengthening its New Distribution Capability (NDC) offerings. This latest expansion introduces Lufthansa Group’s NDC content to its key home markets—Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Belgium—while also broadening access to additional regions. With this development, travel agencies in over 100 countries can now seamlessly access Lufthansa Group’s modern airline offers through Sabre’s platform.

In a significant enhancement to its NDC-enabled marketplace, Sabre has also integrated Discover Airlines, a Lufthansa Group carrier operating from hubs in Frankfurt and Munich. This addition expands the range of available choices for travel agencies and their clients. Sabre-connected agencies that activate Lufthansa Group’s NDC content can now efficiently browse, book, and manage flights from Discover Airlines alongside other Lufthansa Group carriers, including Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, and Swiss International Air Lines.

This expanded access underscores Sabre’s commitment to transforming airline retailing by delivering dynamic, personalized offers through NDC technology, reinforcing its role as a key player in shaping the future of modern travel distribution.

“For NDC to scale, it must seamlessly integrate with agency and online booking tool workflows while supporting the business needs of all stakeholders,” said Kathy Morgan, Senior Vice President, Product Management – Distribution Experiences, Sabre Travel Solutions. “By expanding Lufthansa Group’s NDC footprint, we are providing travel sellers with more choice, flexibility, and efficiency – helping them better serve travelers while facilitating a smooth transition to real-time retailing.”

As airlines advance their retailing strategies, the adoption of New Distribution Capability (NDC) is accelerating across the industry. Collaborating with technology partners like Sabre allows airlines to distribute NDC content more effectively, while travel agencies seamlessly integrate it into their existing systems. This streamlined approach empowers agencies with access to a diverse range of offers through a unified platform, enhancing choice and transparency for travelers.

“Expanding our NDC footprint with Sabre reinforces our commitment to providing travel agencies with modern retailing capabilities,” said Heinrich Lange, Vice President Digital Retailing at Lufthansa Group. “By making our NDC offers more widely available, we are ensuring that travelers have access to a richer and more tailored shopping experience, wherever they book.”

Travel agencies can register via Sabre Central Marketplace to activate NDC content, enabling them to seamlessly browse, book, and manage offers through Sabre’s Offer and Order APIs. They can also access these capabilities through Sabre’s agency booking solutions, including Sabre Red 360 and Sabre Red Launchpad™, as well as a variety of online booking tools such as SAP Concur, GetThere, Zeno by Serko, and Atriis.
