Flair Airlines

Flair Airlines kicks off the new year with top-tier reliability, completing 99.3% of its scheduled flights in January—outpacing Porter (98.4%), while Air Canada and WestJet tied at 97.3%. Canada’s go-to budget airline continues to set the standard for dependability in the skies.

“Passengers deserve to get where they need to go without the stress of cancellations,” said Maciej Wilk, Interim CEO of Flair Airlines. “We’re proud to be Canada’s most reliable airline, but we know there’s always room to improve. We remain committed to transparency and accountability, which is why we back our performance with our On-Time Guarantee (OTG) vouchers.”

Despite January’s tough winter conditions affecting all airlines, Flair remained committed to completing flights, even as punctuality took a hit. The airline recorded an On-Time Performance (OTP) of 61.8%, just behind Porter at 62.9%, while WestJet and Air Canada led with 72% and 68.5%, respectively. However, Flair still delivered on its Operational Tolerance Goal (OTG), with 88% of flights arriving within an hour of their scheduled time. Reliability remains a key focus as the airline continues to improve performance.

“Despite the challenges of winter, Flair was able to minimize cancellations far better than our competitors,” added Wilk. “Passengers would rather wait a little longer than have their plans completely derailed, so we focus on completing flights above all else. We’ll keep improving our operations to ensure reliability and timeliness are delivered consistently for our passengers.”

Flair Airlines maintained its strong track record in January, canceling flights at a rate nearly four times lower than its competitors—ensuring more passengers reached their destinations as planned. With an efficient 86% load factor, the airline transported 307,252 travelers across Canada, the U.S., the Caribbean, and Mexico. At the same time, Flair made strides in sustainability, reducing emissions to 86.7 grams per revenue passenger mile (g/RPM), nearly three grams lower than in December.

As 2025 unfolds, Flair remains focused on providing reliable, affordable, and eco-conscious travel, helping Canadians explore more while spending less.
