Leonardo Hotels Central Europe has successfully implemented a strategic management restructuring, aligning its leadership with the company’s expanding footprint and evolving business priorities. This transformation strengthens sales, marketing, and corporate communications, ensuring a more focused, agile, and efficient organizational structure to support future growth.
New Sales Structure for Optimized Performance
To enhance operational efficiency and maximize revenue opportunities, the sales division has been split into two key segments:
Convention Sales Becomes an Independent Division
Lisa Mager has been appointed to lead the newly independent Convention Sales Department, overseeing a team of 78 professionals. With an impressive background in meetings, events, and conference sales, Mager is set to elevate Leonardo Hotels’ MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) segment, strengthening the company’s position in the industry.
Since joining Leonardo Hotels five years ago, she has been instrumental in professionalizing and expanding Convention Sales, initially serving as Director of Convention Sales for North Rhine-Westphalia before advancing to Head of Convention Sales Central Europe. Now reporting directly to Managing Director Yoram Biton, she will spearhead new strategies for meetings and event sales, reinforcing Leonardo Hotels’ reputation as a leader in this sector.
“Sales plays a crucial role in our corporate strategy,” Mr. Biton stated. “For this reason, we are particularly delighted to have been able to fill these leadership positions by appointing Lisa Mager and Maja Ziemann, two experienced experts from within our own ranks.” He went on: “The new structure creates the very best prerequisites for meeting the requirements and wishes of our customers in an optimum manner.”
Corporate, MICE, and Leisure Sales Under the Leadership of Maja Ziemann
Maja Ziemann, an experienced sales strategist with a strong background in economics, has been promoted to Director Sales Central Europe. Leading a 55-member team, she will oversee corporate, MICE, and leisure sales operations, ensuring seamless execution of commercial strategies.
Since joining Leonardo Hotels in 2013 as Head of Corporate & MICE Sales, Ziemann has been instrumental in developing international business relationships, driving strategic sales initiatives, and expanding the company’s commercial reach. Now reporting directly to Managing Director Yoram Biton, she will focus on enhancing sales performance and strengthening Leonardo Hotels’ position in key markets.
A Unified Approach to Marketing and Brand Strategy
Recognizing the importance of a cohesive marketing approach, Leonardo Hotels Central Europe has integrated digital, traditional marketing, and PR operations under one streamlined corporate communications strategy.
Dan Ogen Appointed Chief Digital and Marketing Officer
Having served as Chief Digital Officer since 2018, Dan Ogen now steps into the role of Chief Digital and Marketing Officer, overseeing a 23-person team. His expertise in digital transformation, online engagement, and strategic marketing has been critical in strengthening Leonardo Hotels’ digital presence and enhancing customer interactions.
In his new role, Ogen will merge digital innovation with traditional marketing efforts, ensuring that Leonardo Hotels remains competitive in an evolving hospitality landscape. His leadership will drive brand visibility, strategic positioning, and enhanced guest experiences across digital and offline channels.
Marion Schön to Lead PR and Brand Marketing
Marion Schön, who has served as Director of Communication & Marketing since August 2023, will now oversee PR and Brand Marketing. With over 20 years of experience in tourism and hospitality, she brings a deep understanding of brand strategy, corporate messaging, and media relations. Her focus will be on strengthening Leonardo Hotels’ reputation and elevating its presence in key markets.
Positioning Leonardo Hotels for Future Success
With this strategic realignment, Leonardo Hotels Central Europe has created a future-ready management structure that enhances operational efficiency, strengthens brand presence, and positions the company for continued growth. By optimizing its sales divisions, unifying marketing efforts, and driving digital innovation, Leonardo Hotels is poised to remain a leader in the hospitality industry while delivering an elevated experience for guests and stakeholders alike.
Sandra Dreher, Vice President Sales & Marketing Central Europe, has been actively supporting the restructuring process. She will be leaving the company at the end of January 2025 in order to seek out new challenges. Yoram Biton, Managing Director Leonardo Hotels Central Europe, praised the achievements of Sandra Dreher during her long period of service to the company. “Sandra Dreher has contributed in impressive fashion to the establishment, development and success of Leonardo Hotels since joining us in 2007. Sandra has led and very much left her mark on Sales, Marketing and Corporate Communications over the years. She has been instrumental to our company’s growth. We started out in Germany with just a handful of hotels. Today, we operate 111 hotels in our Central Europe Region alone and have a total portfolio of 300 hotels. We would like to offer Sandra our heartfelt thanks for her commitment and loyalty. We wish her all the very best for the future.”
