As the Lunar New Year ushers in the Year of the Snake on January 29, 2025, Emirates is rolling out a range of celebratory offerings for passengers.
From January 28 to February 3, 2025, travelers on select routes will enjoy specially crafted dishes, traditional gifts, and entertainment tailored for the occasion.
Festive In-Flight Culinary Delights
Passengers flying on routes between Dubai and Beijing, Guangzhou, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Singapore, and Taipei will be treated to Lunar New Year-themed desserts.
In first, business, and premium economy cabins, Emirates will serve a lychee, rose, and raspberry mousse cake with pâte sablée and white chocolate.
Economy class passengers can savor taro coconut sago accompanied by sweetened fruits and red beans.
On select routes, passengers in all classes will receive traditional red envelopes filled with chocolate coins, symbolizing prosperity for the new year.
Exclusive Lounge Offerings
Emirates lounges at Dubai International Airport and across East Asia, including Singapore, Bangkok, Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong, will feature curated Lunar New Year menus.
At Dubai International Airport’s first and business class lounges, guests can enjoy Cheung Fun steamed rice noodle rolls with dried prawns and scallops during breakfast.
Lunch and dinner offerings in the first class lounge include soya-glazed beef short ribs, pan-seared Chilean seabass with XO sauce and pak choy, and Chinese rainbow salad with smoked salmon.
Dessert options include strawberry lychee cake, black sesame cake, and yuzu tartlet with green tea powder.
The Emirates lounge in Singapore will feature Lunar New Year specialties like king prawns infused with soya, pan-fried duck with lemon sauce, and orange almond crumble cake.
Other lounges in East Asia will serve Chinese-themed dishes, including assorted dim sum, stir-fried beef in black pepper sauce, sweet and sour Kung Pao prawns, and wok-fried beef strips.
Traditional desserts like Eight Treasure rice with lotus seeds and rice dumplings in osmanthus flower soup will also be available.
In-Flight Entertainment Highlights
Passengers traveling during the Lunar New Year can immerse themselves in cultural entertainment. Emirates’ ICE inflight system offers a selection of 22 Mandarin and 13 Cantonese movies, 350 Hollywood films with Chinese subtitles, and a music library featuring 115 Chinese albums and over 1,000 songs.
