Edinburgh Airport’s operations will be restricted on Friday due to the Red weather warning as Scotland braces for Storm Éowyn’s arrival.
Police Scotland has strongly advised against road travel within the Red warning zone between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Passengers and staff are urged to adhere to this guidance for their safety.
The airport is maintaining communication with airline partners to support their operations wherever possible. However, airlines will independently decide on the status of their flights.
Travelers are encouraged to stay in touch with their airlines for the latest updates. As this is a rapidly evolving situation, flight schedules may change throughout the day and into tomorrow, so it’s important to keep checking for updates.
Adam Wilson, Chief Operating Officer at Edinburgh Airport said:
“The decision to limit our operations is not taken lightly but the safety of our passengers and staff is paramount, and we urge them to follow Police Scotland’s advice.
“It is for airlines to decide whether they will operate flights and we will facilitate their operations where we are able to do so. This is a fluid situation, and we are working to understand the knock-on impact. We would ask people for their patience while we work through this.
“We will provide updates when we can but we would also advise passengers to check with their airlines for the latest information on their flights.”
