European airlines are restoring flights to Israel in early 2025, bringing renewed travel opportunities following a ceasefire that signals hope for the region.

European airlines are preparing to resume flights to Israel as a ceasefire in the protracted Gaza conflict took effect on Sunday, January 19.

Many carriers had previously suspended their routes to Tel Aviv following the October 2023 Hamas attacks, with the suspensions repeatedly extended over the past 15 months due to escalating violence. Despite the disruptions, Israeli airline El Al continued its operations between Europe and Israel throughout this period.

The Lufthansa Group, which includes Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, and Swiss, has announced plans to reinstate services to Tel Aviv beginning February 1, 2025. However, flights to Tehran will remain suspended through February 14, while routes to Beirut are expected to resume after February 28.

Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air resumed its flights to Tel Aviv ahead of the ceasefire, restarting operations on Wednesday, January 15. The airline connects Ben Gurion International Airport with several European hubs, including London Luton, Budapest, Vienna, Milan, Warsaw, and Athens. Additionally, flights to Amman, Jordan, were reinstated on Thursday, January 16.

British Airways is also scheduled to restart daily flights to Tel Aviv from April 5, as reported by Israeli media. Meanwhile, Air France plans to resume its Paris Charles de Gaulle-Tel Aviv route on Friday, January 24, while its partner airline KLM has postponed services to Israel until March 29.

EasyJet, another budget airline, has announced plans to restore its Tel Aviv operations from June 1, with flights originating from locations such as Luton, Amsterdam, Berlin, Basel, Geneva, Nice, and Milan. Ryanair is also preparing to operate a full schedule to Tel Aviv this summer, according to reports.
