Sarah Donaldson, a senior travel claims analyst at Fast Cover Travel Insurance, attributed the decline to hyperinflation, making accommodation and dining unaffordable even for foreign visitors. Turkey’s inflation rate, which peaked at 75% in May 2024, had dropped to 44% by December.
