Ottawa Tourism unveils Lumen Eira, a mesmerizing and entirely free illumination experience set to bring Confederation Park to life during Winterlude, from January 31 to February 17, between 4 p.m. and 12 a.m. Produced by Limbic Media, renowned for their groundbreaking light and sound installations, this project promises to captivate visitors of all ages.

Lumen Eira enhances the Winterlude festivities with a breathtaking, family-friendly offering designed to inspire and delight. Step into the enchanting Faery Forest, where glowing trees radiate colors synchronized to nature-inspired soundscapes, blending light and music in perfect harmony. Gather by the Fountain Fire, a dazzling sculpture that evokes the warmth and allure of a crackling bonfire. This immersive experience transforms Confederation Park into a winter wonderland, where light and sound transport visitors to a realm of imagination and wonder.

“We are excited to offer Lumen Eira at Confederation Park this year just as Canadian Heritage is holding Winterlude and the NCC is offering the Rideau Canal Skateway, adding to the vibrancy of our downtown and to the array of reasons people will want to travel to Ottawa,” says Michael Crockatt, President and CEO of Ottawa Tourism. “This captivating light show will not only enhance the beauty of Confederation Park but also provide a unique experience for residents and visitors alike. We invite everyone to come and enjoy the illuminations and make unforgettable memories with family and friends.”

“Ottawa is renowned for its exceptional urban parks and natural spaces, and Confederation Park is undoubtedly one of its gems,” says Tobi Nussbaum, President & CEO of the National Capital Commission. “This initiative not only enhances the park’s beauty but also serves as a link between Centretown and the Rideau Canal Skateway, aligning perfectly with our mission to be responsible stewards of Ottawa’s natural spaces and to connect people with the capital’s stunning sites.”
