A group of 11 top representatives from the leading Spanish tour operator, Special Tours, recently visited Northern Ireland as guests of Tourism Ireland and Tourism Northern Ireland. These travel professionals, who focus on crafting cultural travel experiences for their clients, play a crucial role in promoting Irish tourism in Spain. They are key collaborators for Tourism Ireland in Madrid, helping to bring a significant number of Spanish visitors to the island each year. The aim of their visit was to showcase Northern Ireland’s exceptional tourism offerings, as this is a critical period for encouraging the inclusion of new destinations and experiences in their travel programmes for 2025 and beyond.

Throughout their visit, the group explored a variety of iconic attractions across Northern Ireland. They toured Killeavy Castle Estate, Titanic Belfast, Crumlin Road Gaol, and McConnell’s Distillery, as well as enjoying a guided experience with the Belfast Traditional Music Trail. Their journey took them along the stunning Causeway Coastal Route, with stops at sites such as Glenarm Castle, the Giant’s Causeway, and Mussenden Temple. In Castlerock, they participated in a hands-on chocolate-making workshop at The Chocolate Manor, before heading to Derry-Londonderry to explore the Peacemakers Museum and the Walled City Brewery. Their itinerary also featured visits to Glenshane Country Farm, Montalto Estate, and Killowen Distillery, offering a well-rounded glimpse of the region’s diverse attractions.
