Aeroitalia, accelerating its growth from Rome-Fiumicino, will now leverage the Amadeus Travel Platform to boost connectivity and expand its network through new interlining and codeshare options. This distribution agreement with Amadeus aims to tap into the business travel sector in Italy and Romania, making Aeroitalia’s competitively priced, corporate-focused offerings accessible through preferred travel agency booking channels. Established in 2022, Aeroitalia is in a dynamic expansion phase, utilizing the platform’s opportunities to strengthen its presence in the corporate travel market across its expanding multifrequency network.
Krassimir Tanev, CCO Aeroitalia “As we grow our route network in Italy, including Sardinia, and Sicily markets, and reinforce our position in Europe, we are partnering with Amadeus to accelerate our strategy to deliver dedicated content tailored to our corporate customers. Aeroitalia prides itself on providing high frequency services at affordable fares and we are excited to announce the successful launch of this new agreement.”
Under the new agreement, Aeroitalia will integrate Amadeus Ticket Server—a powerful central ticketing system, e-ticket server, and e-ticketing network—into its Passenger Service System (PSS). This enhanced technology will allow Aeroitalia to build interline and codeshare partnerships, offering passengers a more seamless travel experience with smooth connections.
Ernest Roda, SVP Commercial, Airlines, Western Europe, Amadeus “The decision of Aeroitalia to use the Amadeus Travel Platform illustrates the range of technology we can offer our airline customers as a carrier’s needs evolve. With this change, Aeroitalia will be able to become a ticketing carrier and have an opportunity to benefit from interline and codeshare partnerships for the first time through the Amadeus Travel Platform. This will result in a greater range of opportunities for both travel sellers and travelers in Italy and elsewhere.”
Aeroitalia’s fleet of ten Boeing 737 and two ATR 72-600 aircraft supports an extensive Italian network, reaching destinations such as Rome, Milan Linate, Cagliari, Olbia, Alghero, Catania, Palermo, and Milan Bergamo. The airline also operates international routes to Bacău and Bucharest in Romania.
