Data from January to June 2024 highlights a remarkable 14% growth compared to the same period in 2023. This impressive milestone reaffirms Jamaica as the premier Caribbean destination for UK travelers, showcasing the island’s continued allure as a top travel choice.

“The growing number of UK tourists arriving in Jamaica is a pivotal moment for our tourism sector, highlighting the strength of our brand and the attractiveness of our offerings. This increase not only supports our economy but also fosters cultural exchange and understanding. We are focused on building upon this momentum by continuously improving our infrastructure and experiences to ensure that Jamaica remains a favoured destination for travellers.” said Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett. 

This growth highlights Jamaica’s enduring appeal among UK travelers, captivated by the island’s unique blend of vibrant culture, stunning scenery, and renowned hospitality. The recent figures not only reflect the dedication of Jamaica’s tourism sector but also signal an exciting future ahead. With a slate of luxury hotel openings and an event calendar celebrating Jamaica’s rich culture, music, and culinary heritage, paired with the convenience of numerous direct flights, 2025 is poised to elevate Jamaica’s tourism profile even further.

At the World Travel Market in London, Minister of Tourism Hon. Edmund Bartlett celebrated Virgin Atlantic’s announcement of a non-stop flight service between London Heathrow and Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, set to begin in Summer 2025. This new direct route is expected to further drive UK arrivals, offering a faster, more convenient connection between the UK and Jamaica’s tourism hub, making travel to the island easier for British visitors.

“This is an exciting development for Jamaica’s tourism industry which will make it even more seamless to get to the island” said Minister of Tourism, Hon Edmund Bartlett. “Securing this non-stop flight from a major hub like London Heathrow with Virgin Atlantic is a great addition and will substantially boost airlift and access to our destination.”
