The Port Wine Fest, a vibrant celebration of Portuguese wines, gastronomy, and culture organized by the Port Wine Shippers Association (AEVP), is making a triumphant return to the U.S. after its successful April 2024 debut in Colorado and California. This highly anticipated October edition will see over 40 renowned Portuguese wine producers traveling to three major cities: Las Vegas on October 12th, Chicago on October 14th, and New York on October 16th. Adding to the excitement, this year’s event will feature exclusive experiences and new elements designed to showcase the rich heritage and flavors of Portugal, making it an unforgettable experience for wine enthusiasts and culture lovers alike.

“We are excited to return to the United States this October, following the incredible success of our events in April. It’s an honor to showcase the rich diversity and heritage of Portuguese wines to a growing and enthusiastic audience,” says Isabel Marrana, executive director of AEVP. “We look forward to continuing this journey, strengthening our connections and sharing the unique stories behind each bottle.”

The Port Wine Fest is set to make a grand return, kicking off in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 12th, as part of the USA Today Wine & Food Experience. This unique festival within a festival will bring the flavors of Portugal to life, offering attendees an exclusive opportunity to savor regionally-inspired wines and bites that embody the rich traditions of Portuguese gastronomy.

Continuing the celebration, the fest will head to Chicago on Monday, October 14th, where it will take over The Walden Chicago for its first-ever proprietary event. This immersive experience is designed to introduce trade professionals, media, and consumers to the diversity of Portuguese wines. Featuring wines from across Portugal, food by Cadinho Bakery and Cafe, and regionally inspired music, the event will offer a day full of discovery. From 12 to 4 pm, trade and media attendees will explore over 150 wines while learning from Master Sommelier Jim Bube during an educational session. In the evening, from 6 to 9 pm, a lively consumer party will allow attendees to enjoy Portuguese wines, bites, and activities that bring the essence of Portugal directly to Chicago.

The festivities will culminate in New York City on Wednesday, October 16th, with a grand finale featuring another proprietary event and an exclusive induction ceremony for new members of the prestigious Confraria do Vinho do Porto (Port Wine Brotherhood). Partnering with Chef Nuno Sousa and Leitao, the NYC edition will offer a full day of gastronomic experiences. The event will kick off with an exclusive food and wine pairing soiree for industry professionals, followed by a grand walk-around tasting for trade and media from 12 to 4 pm. Consumers can join the festivities during the 6 to 9 pm session, where Portuguese wines and curated culinary offerings will take center stage.

Throughout the week, the Port Wine Fest will showcase over 40 renowned producers from Portugal, offering a celebration of authentic Portuguese wines, gastronomy, music, and culture.
