As Carnival Cruise Line gears up for its Australian expansion in March 2025, the company has unveiled its 2026/27 itineraries, featuring the addition of two ships, Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter, transferred from P&O Cruises Australia. This expansion will provide travelers with unprecedented cruising options in Australia, with a total of four Carnival ships offering a rich array of exciting and diverse vacations.
Starting next spring, the fleet enhancement includes deployments from Sydney with Carnival Adventure and Carnival Splendor, and from Brisbane with Carnival Encounter and, seasonally, Carnival Luminosa. These ships will navigate through sought-after destinations like Moreton Island, the South Pacific, the Great Barrier Reef, as well as voyages to New Zealand, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea.
“As we expand our fleet to four ships in Australia and enrich our overall deployment plan, our 2026/27 itineraries significantly increase the options available for the Carnival experience from Sydney and Brisbane,” said Fred Stein, vice president of itinerary planning. “Guests interested in a cruise from Australia are bound to find the perfect itinerary, whether they’re looking to explore a new region or revisit key vacation destinations – all showcasing the diverse beauty of the South Pacific.”
From Sydney, Carnival Adventure and Carnival Splendor will host a wide variety of trips ranging from short two-day getaways to extensive 12-day journeys. Highlights include four-day escapades to Moreton Island, six-day Tasmanian adventures with stops in Hobart and Port Arthur, and longer cruises across the South Pacific and New Zealand, featuring ports like Wellington, Lyttelton (Christchurch), Dunedin, and scenic cruising through Fiordland National Park.
Brisbane-based itineraries on Carnival Encounter and Carnival Luminosa will cater to diverse travel desires with trips lasting from three to 14 days. Carnival Luminosa’s seasonal offerings include a six-day Great Barrier Reef exploration touching Airlie Beach and Cairns, along with week-long voyages to South Pacific gems and a special 14-day Carnival Journeys cruise revisiting the historic Mutiny on the Bounty sites, with stops in unique locales such as Norfolk Island and Nuku’alofa, Tonga.
Carnival Encounter will also set sail from Brisbane with an array of itineraries including short three-day getaways and extended cruises up to 14 days, visiting enchanting South Pacific destinations and featuring comprehensive tours of Fiji’s idyllic islands. This expansion marks a significant enhancement in Carnival’s offerings, ensuring travelers have more opportunities than ever to create unforgettable cruise memories from Australia.
