The Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) has once again achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification for 2024, marking its seventh consecutive year of maintaining this prestigious recognition.
This achievement reflects the DOT’s unwavering dedication to upholding the highest levels of public service excellence.
The third-party re-certification audit for the DOT’s Quality Management System (QMS) was conducted from September 11 to 12 by PT AJA Sertifikasi Indonesia-Philippine Representative Office, an internationally recognized ISO certifying body.
As a globally accepted standard, ISO 9001:2015 certification ensures that the DOT’s operational procedures consistently meet both customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Commitment to excellence
Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, speaking at the recertification ceremony, highlighted the DOT’s enduring commitment to providing superior service to both domestic and international visitors.
Upholding essential standards
Executive Order No. 605, series of 2007, mandates all government agencies, including GOCCs and GFIs, to adopt ISO 9001:2000 QMS as part of the government’s quality management initiative.
The DOT first earned its ISO certification in 2018, followed by successful audits in 2019 and 2020. In 2021, the department passed its recertification audit, solidifying its commitment to maintaining high service standards.
In 2022 and 2023, under Frasco’s leadership, the DOT retained its certification, successfully passing two more surveillance audits without any reported non-conformities.
