Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney introduces the Brooksy Bar, a fresh addition to the city’s lively food and beverage landscape, redefining what it means to be a hotel bar. As part of Amora Hotels & Resorts’ innovative vision, Brooksy sets a new standard in merging hospitality expertise with creative flair, offering a cutting-edge approach to the hotel bar experience.

The opening of Brooksy strengthens the brand’s portfolio of contemporary lifestyle experiences and raises the bar for hotel establishments aiming to break away from tradition, providing guests with sophisticated and unforgettable moments marked by seamless service and style.

A 1920s Speakeasy with a Modern Twist
Brooksy brings the intrigue of a speakeasy, answering Sydney’s growing appetite for intimate, themed venues that offer more than the usual. Located in the bustling York Street area, its 1920s-inspired design offers a nostalgic retreat into the elegance of a bygone era. The bar features luxurious Italian marble, a striking metal light installation that wraps around its structure, plush velvet seating, and intricate French oak flooring etched with metallic details—creating an immersive sensory experience that stands out in the city’s vibrant nightlife scene.

“In a city where consumers crave novel and immersive experiences, the speakeasy model fits perfectly,” said Narej Farik, Group Director of Business Development & Asset Management, Amora Hotels & Resorts. “Brooksy sets itself apart by combining historical elegance with modern sophistication, and in order to re-create the authentic vibes of the 1920s era, we spared no expense in sourcing for the right materials with the right details and textures for the design.”

Coming up with a unique concept for Brooksy’s drinks and food menu was just one of the key decisions. Importantly, it was about amplifying the experiential value of a visit to Brooksy. “From the dramatic presentations of cocktails and the lavish absinthe fountain to the roving whisky trolleys and tableside entertainment such as fortune telling, we present a backdrop that is Instagram-worthy and memorable. It is no longer just about getting a drink during happy hour,” said Michael Thom, Director of Food & Beverage, Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney. “This concept has been pivotal in cutting through the thriving but competitive bar scene in our vibrant city.”

“The opening of Brooksy is a strategic move to harness the evolving tastes of consumers who value not only the quality of their drinks but also the ambience and storytelling behind them,” added Michael. “Ultimately, in order for a bar to thrive, one has to be unique, provide impeccable service and present offerings that change and evolve alongside consumer demands.”

After its grand opening in July, Michael revealed that the team is committed to hosting regular spirit tastings with various brands, alongside live music performances featuring a jazz pianist or acoustic guitarist to keep Brooksy guests entertained. Additionally, a new courtyard space will be available for those who prefer to relax outdoors while soaking up the city’s atmosphere.

Brooksy’s debut at the Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney comes on the heels of the success of Nora Beach Club at Amora Beach Resort Phuket, which opened earlier this year in January. Nora’s day club concept sets itself apart from the array of beach clubs on Bangtao Beach, Phuket, known for their lively dance and party scenes.

Focusing on social drinking and beach relaxation with a vibrant twist, Nora appeals to vacationers and locals seeking a different way to enjoy Phuket’s beaches—away from the typical party spots and more rustic settings. The fun begins with the sunrise, offering different zones that transition from lunchtime indulgence to mid-day entertainment and sunset festivities.

Guests can choose to unwind on daybeds and cabanas, indulge in the restaurant’s culinary delights, sip premium wines in the wine cellar, relax at the beachfront bar, enjoy live music at the stage area, or retreat to the sunken VIP seating for private conversations.

Looking to the future, Amora properties aim to become central hubs for local dining and social engagement, where international travelers can mingle with city residents in sophisticated venues. These establishments will highlight their location’s unique character through locally sourced ingredients, seasonal menus, and innovative design.
