NAV CANADA reported today that its traffic figures for August 2024, measured in weighted charging units for enroute, terminal, and oceanic air navigation services, increased by 4.0 percent compared to August 2023.

Weighted charging units reflect the number of billable flights, aircraft size, and distance flown in Canadian airspace, serving as the basis for movement-based service charges, which account for the majority of the company’s air traffic revenue.

Established in 1996, NAV CANADA is a private, not-for-profit organization responsible for delivering air traffic control, airport advisory services, weather briefings, and aeronautical information across over 18 million square kilometres of both Canadian domestic and international airspace.
